The Institut Catholique de Paris, is a key player in the French-speaking world and founded the Institut de Langue et de Culture Françaises (ILCF) in 1948, alongside its other faculties.

Learning a language is a profound act of opening up to others and to the world. To support you in this decisive step, ILCF has developed a pedagogy, rhythms, progressions and activities adapted to achieving the desired level of French, according to the 6 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the CEFR.

Classes are organized by level and learning objectives. Progress in language learning depends on each learner’s:

  • their personal learning path
  • their knowledge
  • their goals
  • their motivation and learning style
 

Unique teaching
 

All our teachers are qualified and experienced in student-centered teaching methods. Specialized in teaching French as a foreign language, they also have a qualification in another discipline (art history, literature, philosophy, cinema, communication), as well as international life experience.

Rhythms for all

To ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to take ILCF courses, courses are accessible at a variety of rhythms, depending on students' availability:

  • daytime, full-time (from 15h to 21h / week)
  • daytime, part-time (3 to 12h / week)
  • evening classes (4h/week)
  • Saturday morning classes (3h/week)
