Our business-French semester programmes are an excellent option for :

•    Take business-French classes,
•    Take exams organized by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, notably for the professional-French diploma,

•    Carry out a contractualized internship at a French company of your choice,
•    Participate in the annual ICP Business Forum and meet with over 200 professionals,



The Institut de Langue et de Culture Françaises (ILCF) is part of the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP), a private higher education institution.
This allows our students to benefit from internship agreements. Students must locate their own internship, which must be carried out during their session.

This internship must meet four conditions :

  • the trainee must be registered at ILCF (complete dossier and payment),
  • Preregistrations are insufficient,
  • the trainee must be taking a minimum of 15 hours of courses per week,
  • the trainee must practice his/her French during the internship,
  • the trainee must be registered with the Sécurité Sociale (French social security).


Business partnerships

Partnered with the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Institut de Langue et de Culture Françaises serves as an exam centre for both the DFP professional French diploma and the TEF French competency exam.

Admission Procedure

  • Must be 18 years or older,
  • Must have a secondary school (high school) diploma,
  • Must take the placement exam at ILCF.

  • Documents to be provided : ID (passport, residency permit, etc.), copy of your most recent diploma, and, if possible, any certificate validating your level of French.

All of our courses can be taken as further education.

Two course semesters :

  • Autumn semester, from September to January,
  • Spring semester, from February to June.
The courses are divided into 3-hour modules.

Certain courses are also offered as monthly sessions or evening classes

Professional communication: 3 hours/week
For intermediate levels B1 or B2.

French for the professional world: 6 hours/week
For intermediate to advanced levels B1 to C1.

DFP Business French diploma, level C2: Tutorial
For students having obtained their DFP level C1.

Conditions of validation

Continuous monitoring and final evaluation

Under exam conditions (same written exam for all classes of the same level, and oral exam with an instructor from another class of the same level).


At the end of each session, all students receive a “Studies in French as a Foreign Language” certificate mentioning the language level attained (or in the process of being attained), the number of hours and the corresponding ECTS credits earned.
As a partner of the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ILCF serves as an exam centre for the TEF and DFP.
Two exam sessions are organized yearly, in December and in April. Information and registration on-site at the administration office.
